With only hours left until the end of financial year, we still need your help with the next crucial step in our research so we can learn more about wild bilbies and give them their best chance at escaping extinction.
And right now, is the best chance to make your gift really count! One of our generous bilby-lovers has agreed to continue to match every dollar you give until we hit our new goal of $180,000 so we can increase the number of cameras from 80 to 100.
These specialist cameras will help scientists research so wild bilby populations can grow in arid Australia. With your support, there will be even more 'eyes' on the ground watching our Aussie Battlers.
Last year's survey of wild bilby populations across Southwest Queensland started to give us some insights into what’s changed over the last 30 years. It has allowed us to identify where some of the wild bilbies are living (and where they aren’t living).
The work helped us discover a group of bilbies on private land. We now need to understand how these bilbies are surviving and the only way to do that is to have proper scientific data.
We have an exciting opportunity to do something right now that we’ve not had the chance to do before.
The more we know about bilbies, the better we can protect them and give them their best chance at surviving for generations to come.
Now, we’re ready for another step to save our native Aussie battler. Bilbies are trying their best to survive and have hung on despite the significant pressures on them.
Your gift will help us get a more detailed understanding of how the wild bilby populations we observed through our field research last year are continuing to survive in Queensland. We need to know how we can best protect and grow these bilby numbers and your gift will help fund a focused and finer-scale research project in the Birdsville/Boulia area on privately owned land.
We owe it to the bilbies—living both within our fenced area at Currawinya National Park and also the newly discovered bilbies living outside the fence—to keep the wheels in motion on this crucial research work.
Please help fund our bilby-saving work today.
